Web-Based Entities: Helping Achieve 100% Enrollment Under The ACA

The Affordable Care Act allows states to authorize licensed online health insurance marketplaces to provide consumers with more ways to purchase qualified health plans. These authorized marketplaces ("web-based entities" or "WBEs") can help state policymakers reach their enrollment goals and help more consumers find the health insurance coverage they need.
Web-based entities will prove essential to achieving the goals of the Affordable Care Act. By providing consumers with access to the same health plans and the same federal subsidies available through state health insurance exchanges, WBEs present both a valuable supplement for government agencies and an important resource for individual consumers.
